Photo Size: Big photos slow your site down.

Photo files are large and they take up a lot of space on your website which can significantly slow down your site loading time. A slower site loading time will get you lower rankings on google search. All of this just means that you should do a little work before you upload the photo.

The first you’re going to want to do is just resize your photo. I typically go with 1500x1000 pixels unless I know that the photo is going to be used for a thumbnail or small image. Typically you’ll use a png for something like icons or logos and jpegs for regular image files.

Rename your photos once you upload them. Photos can be a powerful part of your SEO strategy. When you upload a photo name it something that makes sense for that images. I typically use the name of my company when describing the image. Example - /The Organizing Advantage Basket Recommendation’
